Last updated: this is a draft. A lawyer has not reviewed this — please get one to review it before Clawdio is available to the public.
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and, optionally, your phone number and city. If you choose to receive text notifications, we use your phone number only to send you a link to your daily briefing and to verify your number with a one-time code.
Clawdio gives you a private forwarding address at clawdio.news. Only mail you (or a filter you set up) forwards to that address reaches us — we never access your actual inbox, and we never see your personal email. We use the content of forwarded newsletters, and only that content, to build your daily briefing. We automatically sort forwarded mail into newsletters (kept) and promotional mail (dropped), and you can adjust this in Settings.
We use Anthropic's Claude to read your forwarded newsletters and turn them into a script, and a text-to-speech service to turn that script into audio. Only the content of your newsletters is sent to these services for this purpose — not your name, email, or other account details.
If you opt in during setup, we text you a link when your daily briefing is ready and a one-time code to verify your number. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts immediately — we honor it right away, and you can still use Clawdio in the app without SMS. Reply HELP for help.
Subscription payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — only Stripe does, subject to Stripe's own privacy policy.
We use a small number of service providers to run Clawdio: Supabase (account data and audio storage), Twilio (text messages), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (briefing generation), a text-to-speech provider, Cloudflare (inbound email), and Vercel (hosting). We don't sell your data to anyone, and we don't share it with advertisers.
We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and — if you arrived through a friend's referral link — a short-lived cookie that remembers who referred you so we can credit their reward when you sign up. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
You can review and change your saved settings anytime. You can delete your account from Settings at any time, which cancels any active subscription and permanently deletes your account data, including forwarded newsletter content and generated briefings, within 30 days.
Clawdioisn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
